Our in-house designer worked with the property owner to design a complete yard makeover for this Arden, NC residence. This transformative project included a detailed plant selection for trees, shrubs, and perennials to provide natural privacy screening, accent color and ground cover.
The design featured three tiers of distinct outdoor living spaces connected with a meandering stone staircase complemented with cohesive plant placement. The lower level concrete paver patio is perfect for outdoor dining and connected walkways provide access to the driveway on one end and a set of steps on the other end that leads to a basement apartment/workshop. A large flagstone fire pit area is the focal point of the second tier—perfect for after dinner drinks. A sitting area and observation deck that overlooks Mount Mitchell in the background tops off this backyard makeover.
